Steven Fechter (Playwright) is a playwright, screenwriter, and librettist. He co-wrote the screenplay for the 2004 film The Woodsman (based on his play). The Woodsman play has been produced in North America, Europe, and Australia. Other stage productions include Lancelot (360repco), Shakespeare’s Slave (Resonance Ensemble), The Execution of Saint Luke (John Jay College of Criminal Justice), and Serpent’s Tooth (Theatre Bielefeld, Bielefeld, Germany). Fechter is a member of EST Playwrights Unit, and thanks their support, as well as a proud member of The Dramatists Guild. Kathy Gail MacGowan (Director) has ushered many premieres to the New York stage including: In the Summer Pavilion (Daily News Highlight: NYC Fringe) and Kentucky Cantata by Paul David Young, Rosemary and Time by Jennifer Fell Hayes, The Dishonorable Discharge of Private Pitts and The Golden Year by Daniel Damiano, and Broad Channel by James Bosley. She curates and directs for The Sheen Center Theater Festival, recently staging The December Man by Colleen Murphy. In addition, she has directed at The Stella Adler School of Acting for the NYU Company. She is a member of AEA, SDC, and was a Drama League Directing Finalist. Kia Rogers (Lighting Designer) is a NYC based lighting designer for Theatre and Dance. Recent designs: 3LD Art & Technology Center, BAM Fisher, Cherry Lane Studio, Gural Theatre at ART/NY, Gym at Judsonn, and Theatre 511 at ARS NOVA. International credits: Associate Lighting Designer for Slutforart/98.6 in Gothenburg, Sweden with Muna Tseng. West coast designs: El Portal’s Monroe Forum Theatre, Los Angeles and Z Space, San Francisco. Dance designs: Flamenco Vivo National tours, Forward Motion, Kinesis Project Dance Theatre, Lighting Designer and mentor for Ethical Culture Fieldston High School Dance Company. Kia is a member of Rising Phoenix Repertory and a Creative Partner with Flux Theatre Ensemble.
Janet Mervin (Costumer) is thrilled to be involved in this production. She is a three-time recipient of the Planet Connections-Outstanding Costume Design Award.
Monet Fleming (Production Stage Manager) Monet is excited to be on the production team for Bergen. She loves being a part of the theater world in every shape and form. She most recently stage managed True West and Fences at The Ridgefield Theater Barn. She’s has skills in sound design and displayed them as the Resident Sound Designer at Music Theater of Connecticut. Monet recently received a General Management Fellowship with The New Group! Monet is a Western Connecticut State University Alum and couldn’t be any happier to be a part of Broadway Bound Theatre Festival.
